Der Maler Martin Eder, einer der wichtigsten zeitgenössischen Künstler, lebt intensiv in und mit seiner Kunst in einem beeindruckenden Atelier in Berlin. Gerade hat er die Kunstwelt mit einer neuen Werkserie überrascht: Skulpturen statt Ölbilder sind bis zum 5. Mai 2012 bei seiner Galerie EIGEN + ART zu sehen - eine Revolution. ARTberlin erzählt er warum Kunst keine Kontrolle braucht, wie er sich zu seinem innersten Wesen vorarbeitet und warum er 90% Hassbekundungen bekommt.

This is a opener I directed, animated & composed for Letters Are My Friends.

It includes an applied case of using vvvv-patch "Buchstabengewitter" by Ingo Italic.

Based on my idea, that the most intesting part of an animation is always the transition from a to b, Ingo developped this patch as a generative typography project that transforms three-dimensional linear structures into all the letters of the alphabet by morphing fluently into each other.

Together we are running the typographic concept store Letters Are My Friends.

I have been asked to pitch a visual concept for the 10 Years Vice Jubile Live Event 2006 in Berlin.
Only restriction: including mainsponsor playstation's 'WHITE' ADs-Campaign.
 

Here is my step-by-step Tutorial:
 

Hooking Up a Vice-BirthdayBash-Style:

- creating unique handmade collages of xeroxed vice-pictures  (found web-vice footage- no matter what quality!) and mix them up with xeroxed playstation high res ad images. Xerox them again...paint over them again with custom lettering and additional icons and scribbles.

- dominant black/white style combined with colored/neon highlights

- animate this collages with vvvv- patches reacting on sound and luminance

- adding gradients, 3D-perspective and soundreactivity.

In the end, they decided to have a fixed video installation and no live visuals. So they canceled it. Anyway, they loved the style.

This is a short 3D experimental visual music piece i've done as personal project.

Linked to mountains and valleys, its intent is a metaphoric hommage to the financial crisis.
 

This is a test compositing Nindustrict created 2008 for a dancing show called fuego performed with 80 dancers, 60 moving projectors and 16meter high projection screens on the strip of Las Vegas.

We have been commissioned to assist in art direction and producing a couple of scenes on location in Las Vegas, embedded into a real show production and all the backround happenings.
After 2 month, coming back to Berlin the job turned into a fullservice producion: we produced, designed and animated whole scenes, which wasn't easy at all caused by the distance and the realtime-delay over there.

Due to the fact that there were permanently chances in projection formats and stages, we decided to come up with a library of elements for a underwater world, and do a realtimecompositing within the mediamanager, which was controlling the timing and effects of the projectors.

This really huge project with this tons of flexible parameters made it a real experience, as well as working in Las Vegas on the strip.

I had some great colaborators with felixkoziol, with who I joined forces for my scenes (not thisone) and the amazing talented people at grosse8, who did the rest:) (in this clip: the metal strings). Thanks a lot!

This is my showreel of collected works till 2007.

A bunch of motion design works from title Sequences over musicvideos to live visuals to experimental shorts, I did. Mostly 2D/After Effects works but also live shooting.

On the first sight Goldkyd is an experimental short concepted, directed, animated, edited and styled by and for Nindustrict.
The intension of this short, is to be embedded as conceptual part of a whole DVD-package. - A Portfolio-DVD-Package for Nindustrict, including Package, CI, Flyer &  tons of portfolio-works.

This was my master piece, I did at the filmacademy Baden-Württemberg 2007.

Thesis: An experimental short conceptionally used as identity-given piece embedded on a MotionDesignPortfolio - DVD.

Focus for this DVD was the embedded shortfilm, containing 10 'ego-episodes' which stand as alter-ego of Nindustrict. Each episode is authored inbetween the motiondesign works on the DVD.

Background:
A portfolio is usually seen as a best-of-skillz-archive aswell as a batch processing of the past, still there are very few dealing with the personality and the individual world behind the 'production heads'.
The aim of this film is to personalize a Portfolio in such a special way, that the world behind the production heads - the unique ID of the maker- appeals to the viewer. An experimental short used as an image clip.

That was the main idea of the shortfilm, establishing an Alter-Ego-character: Split in 10 episodes, Lysander has to conserve his past for restore himself. By killing his 'darlings' and rediscovering things & familiar surroundigs defining him, he finally recovers his own center.
This short is highly connected to a symbolic use of objects related to the 'good' present and the 'bad' past, Lysaner, the protaglonist, is sourrounded with.

Embedded colorcodes connect to his personality: all golden things Lysander deals with are standing for the pretending 'shining' past, he is peeling of, all turquoise things standing for the good, relieved and grounded present and future he is turning to more and more.

GoldKYD - Flyer (back-front/ 4c/partieller UV-Lack): 10x10cm

Based on the pictures the design for the opener animation, the credits, the DVD-Menues and all the Typography was done by Nindustrict. Even the cover stitching.
The DVD-Cover is made of different silkscreened fabrics, the Logo is embroidered on top in gold, brown metallic and turquoise colour. The DVD itself is golden.

Long time ago, we have been asked if we would like to produce, design and animate a oneminute track of Populous' Dub Driver exclusively created for and published on the Videominuto Compilation 2005.

So KE4 aka Philipp Rahlenbeck and me did. This track has also been published on our famous MUTATENLIEBE DVD 2005. Ask for more details and a copy.

It happend that we have been on a portuguese island (Isla Deserta) southern of Faro in holidays, when we accept this commission.
Eventually we included some pictures taken on this really dry island. In progress, our office became a hotellobby in Faro and finally we uploaded our work after 1 day WIFI via a VISA Paid operair network connection in the public park. Was a great adventurous working pipeline we experienced.

We were commissioned by Pulver Recordsto produce a corporate image DVD for an exhibition at the Swatch store in Berlin, 2005.
We remixed all their record artworks into a single 30 minutes VJ mix by using VVVV, Flash & After Effects Animations.
